Drawing Practice: Day 13
Learning about vanishing points and perspective. Some things to think about:
- Perspective as like a rendering choice is something I don’t fully understand conceptually; Eviston’s framing is like “the more vanishing points you use, the more believable/realistic it will look”.
- Eye-level / horizon line as a key calibration.
- When drawing the face that is in perspective, how to choose length? Also how far away should vanishing points be on the horizon?
- This part seems to be left “intuitive” in a lot of drawing classes? But I like to understand the underlying principles.
- One principle: sides that points more directly away from you appear more foreshortened
- I found a reference here that seems to have a lot more technical detail which I think will be useful for me to work through:
